Parts The bases of a trapezoid are the parallel sides The legs of the trapezoid connect the bases The base angles are formed by the intersection of the legs and the bases The midsegment is the segment that connects the midpoints of the legs

Isosceles Trapezoid Isosceles Trapezoid have congruent legs The diagonals of this trapezoid are congruent Pairs of base angles are congruent

Midsegment of a Trapezoid Parallel to the bases Connects the midpoint of the legs Its length is ½ the sum of the bases

Midsegment X is ½ (21+35) or 28X is 8 This is found by doubling 15 and subtracting 22 30 – 22 = 8
