3. Autobiography: a story about a person’s life, written by that individual. Why write an autobiography? Every person has in interesting story to tell. Great way to share your story with people. Jobs sometimes publish your autobiography for the company. When writing this, you focus on three major topics: -Who you are in life. -What life means to you. -What your outlook on the future is. 4. Create a concept map -Start with events in your life from as early as you can remember and finish with where you are now. -add things like: - where were you born -first lived -schools you attended -memorable life events: individual, family, friends, etc. -Where you want to go in life after HS (Future Plans) AUTOBIOGRAPHY ACTIVITY

5. Beginning to end: (chronological order) Image to represent event with Short description Dates: be as detailed as possible. Just year it happened is fine.

6. You will be completing 3 different career inventories. You will use the information to complete many of the assignments in your portfolio. You need to have this information in Chapter 2 of your portfolio SELF INVENTORY/ CAREER INVENTORY

7. -We will be doing a 2 week session on finance. -You will put part of what we do in your portfolio: personal budget FINANCE

8. You must have a minimum of 5 examples and no more than 10 examples. Examples could be: A.Pictures of your awards B.Pictures of you with your trophies C.Copies of your certificates D.Newspaper articles that show your accomplishments E.Copies of past report cards HONORS, AWARDS, AND CREDENTIALS

10. These must show you performing or participating in your extracurricular activities. Hobbies, sports, clubs, peer groups, etc. Minimum of 5 pictures with 3 sentence description; no more than 10. - Can not be symbol of hobby. -Can not be drawings of you doing your hobbies. -Can not be more than 1 or 2 years old. -Must be able to see your face in each picture. 14. You will be filling out applications. This will be for future: School or job You will use same information from resume: past jobs, references, etc. APPLICATION PROCESS

A.Job Shadowing You will be following a person that has a job you want at their place of business and conduct an “informational interview”. -Take 2 pictures of them doing their job. -Take 1 picture of you and them together. -You will ask them questions from a worksheet. -You will then fill out Job Shadowing Worksheet when day is complete. 16. B. Home Project If you select Home Project- you are going to do the research on a type of career on your own and create the pages similar to the job shadowing page. Research/create the following information: -Job Duty : 2 pictures showing a professional completing the job. -Work Environment: a picture that shows what it looks like where you would work. -Expected Dress Requirement: Picture showing how you would dress on an average day. -College or Work Experience: Write about what is needed to be in this type of career. -Tools: write about tools that you would use for this career. - Wages: find information or chart showing what the average pay would be for job in South Carolina.
