All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Shift Logic Overview All TimeTrack data is posted and validated against Shifts Each employee has to be assigned to a shift Shifts support: Different hours for each day Multiple breaks in a shift (a reduction set) Capability of crossing from one day to the next Overtime and Double Overtime thresholds Shift Pattern - Concept allows employees to move from shift to shift on a regular basis (for instance, where employees work day, evening and night shift on a regular rota basis)

Template v4 September 27, 2012 4 Copyright © 2012. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Shift Setup Settings A Report Date Adjustment is set up against the Shift. This is used when a shift crosses midnight and the system needs to know whether the data should be posted to the day in which the shift starts (‘Previous Day’) or the day in which the Shift ends (‘Next Day’) For a regular day shift, it should be set to ‘Current Day’ Logical Midnight Adjustment is not currently in use Logical Midnight is used to denote when the current day turns into the next day. This should normally be set about 12 hours after the mid- point of a shift This is used to determine which day an employee is referring to when he clocks in at a particular time in the day For example, if a shift runs from 10 PM on a Tuesday until 6 AM on a Wednesday and the logical midnight is set at 2PM, a clock in of 9 PM on Tuesday would be considered as an ‘early‘ clock in for the Tuesday night shift. If however, the clock in was at 1 PM, this would be considered to be a ‘late’ clock in for the Monday night shift Shift Type Denotes whether the shift is ‘static’ or ‘dynamic’. If static, the employee has to account for all hours on the shift, and any missing hours need to be accounted for by absence codes If dynamic, the employee does not have to account for every hour of the shift and missing hours can simply be authorized by the supervisor without the need to create absences Overtime Calculation determines whether overtime is calculated on a daily, weekly or daily and weekly basis If daily, the employee is entitled to overtime once the base hours for the day have been worked If weekly, the employee is entitled to overtime only when the base hours for the week have been worked If daily and weekly, the employee is entitled to overtime on a day when the base hours have been worked and also entitled to overtime on non-working days based on the weekly overtime threshold Labor Types specify the ERP labor type codes to be used for the different type of hours worked Regular, Overtime and Doubletime codes are available for all types of shift Overtime before Shift and Doubletime before Shift are only available for shifts of type Fixed, as there is no concept of working ‘before a shift’ on a flexible shift

Template v4 September 27, 2012 5 Copyright © 2012. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Shift Days Specify the Day the shift starts on Specify the start and end times each day Specify whether the day is eligible for overtime, regular, overtime or doubletime Specify whether the day type is working day, non-work day or not allowed Specify the reduction set (breaks) for that day

Template v4 September 27, 2012 6 Copyright © 2012. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Shift Days (continued) Specify the permissible number of regular, overtime and doubletime hours for a day (200 means 2 hours, 230 means 2 hours 30 minutes). Exceeding these hours results in an exception being generated Optionally assign a premium code to the different types of hours

Template v4 September 27, 2012 7 Copyright © 2012. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Reduction Sets Specify the Function of this Break – lunch or break Specify whether or not the break is paid. Typically, a lunch break might not be paid but a mid- afternoon break might be paid Specify the start and end time of this break Optionally enter a task code if the break is paid. The time of the break will then be posted to this task code rather than posted to the current job Specify a break is clockable if the employee is expected to clock in and out for the break. If the break is classified as paid, the break will then be paid only if the employee does not clock out for it Specify whether to exclude this break from the calculation to determine the number of hours to be accounted for if the employee takes this day off work

Template v4 September 27, 2012 9 Copyright © 2012. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Worked Examples – Evening Shift Example 2 – Shift 2 starts at 18:00 (6 PM) and ends at 02:00 (2 AM) the following day with a paid break from 22:00 (10PM) until 22:30 (10:30 PM)

Template v4 September 27, 2012 10 Copyright © 2012. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Worked Examples – Night Shift Example 3 – Shift 3 starts at 22:00 (10 PM) and ends at 06:00 (6 AM) the following day with a paid break from 02:00 (2 AM) until 02:30 (2:30 AM)

Template v4 September 27, 2012 11 Copyright © 2012. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Shift Pattern Allows a rotation of shifts to be set up if employees are liable to switch shifts on a regular basis Shifts can be switched on a daily, weekly, monthly or payroll period basis
