AFRICAN PARTNERSHIPS FOR PATIENT SAFETY 2009 – The World Health Organisation met with the Ministers of Health of 46 African Countries and agreed to take action on Patient Safety. 2010 – Gondar University Hospital and the University Hospitals of Leicester were chosen as partners to become first wave implementers.

3. PATIENT SAFETY ACTION AREAS There were 12 action areas and Gondar selected 5 priorities: 1.IPC – Hand Hygiene 2.Safe Surgical Care 3.Health Care Worker Protection 4.Health Care Waste Management 5.Research
