Recommended Browsers for the K12 Online School Recommended We recommend using the following browsers when accessing the K12 Online School (OLS): Internet Explorer 9.0 and higher (IE 10.0 may need to be in compatibility mode) Google Chrome 17.0 or higher * Mozilla Firefox 10.0 or higher Click the hyper link to download the latest version of the following browsers: Internet Explorer Internet Explorer Mozilla Firefox Mozilla Firefox Google Chrome Google Chrome *Google Chromebooks: Although the K12 Online School is compatible with the Google Chrome browser when using a PC, the OLS is not compatible with Google Chromebooks, or other types of tablet computers and mobile devices. Time Zone Settings for Class Connect (Time Zone Picker) The Time Zone Picker Upon first login, the Learning Coach will see a pop-up asking to select their time zone. The Time Zone Picker will preselect the time zone for the user's home state (as specified in My Account). The Learning Coach can apply the settings to all students in the account or select the correct Time Zone for each student individually

Time Zone Settings for Class Connect (Time Zone Picker) How to Change the Settings The Learning Coach has the ability to change the Time Zone Settings. To access this screen again: Login to the Online School Click My Account Select Time Zone Settings (from the drop-down menu)

Getting Started Without Materials About Material Shipment Students enrolled late in the summer or during the school year may need to start school before they receive all of their course materials. Please allow 7-10 business days after the day your student was approved to receive your student's course materials (if enrolled less than 2 weeks before your school start date). We recommend that you check the status of your material order by logging into My Info. Click here for instructions on how to view shipping information.here Check K-Mail We recommend that you check K-Mail daily for additional information from your teacher. If you are unsure of what to do, please reach out to your teacher via K-Mail. Your teacher will be happy to provide additional instructions and direction.

Getting Started Without Materials Course Content Online Please know that content for most courses is online and your student will be able to complete some (if not all) of their early lessons without the materials included in their shipment. Examples of the types of materials online include: Lesson Content Online Assessments Teacher Guides and Student Pages are available to print from the Online School Online Books (select courses) Audio components that are accessed online If the student is in High School, please read the syllabus for each course. In the course syllabus, the teacher will provide helpful information; such as, an overview of the instructional content, policies about due dates and late assignments, grading scale, and general expectations set forth by the teacher.

Shipping Timeline for Virtual Schools When will I receive my course materials? The timeline for when the student will receive their course materials depends on the following information: School's Start Date Student's Enrollment Approved Date UPS will send you an email when your course materials have shipped.

How can I track my shipments? You can track your shipments by accessing My Info from your Online School (OLS) Learning Coach account. “My Info” is located under “Quick Links” from your Online School Homepage or can be accessed by selecting “My Account” from the top of your Online School (OLS) and then selecting “Orders & Shipments” from the drop down menu. Once you are in “My Info” you will see your Student’s name. Simply click on your Student’s name and select either “Orders” to track your course materials or “Hardware” if you are to receive a loaner computer from the School.

Missing from Shipment If there are items missing in your shipment, please check your packing slip for the status of these items. If the packing slip shows all materials have shipped, most likely the item(s) is in transit. Please allow up to 5 business days for your complete order to be delivered. An item on back order will ship as soon as it becomes available. Please allow approximately 2 weeks to receive back ordered materials. If you are still missing the item(s) 5 business days after your first delivery, and it is not on back order, please contact the K¹² Customer Support team. We will be happy to re-order the item(s) for you.

OpenOffice (Open Office) - How to Use OpenOffice Depending on your families computer setup. You may need to utilize OpenOffice software. This powerful set of tools is an alternative to Microsoft Office®, delivering similar software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, and databases. Please download and keep the Open Office Job Aid in a convenience place as you learn how to utilize this new tool.Open Office Job Aid This job aid covers how to begin using OpenOffice® and how to share your files with others who may still be using Microsoft Office® software. Please note that you may need to save your files in a Microsoft format before sharing with your teacher and submitting your work through the LMS Dropbox. (TurnItIn does not accept OpenOffice file types.) Please see page 2 for instructions.
