2 University of Southern California Center for Systems and Software Engineering Agenda 1. Current Approach  Associated Problems 2. Improvements 3. Meeting Tool 2

3 University of Southern California Center for Systems and Software Engineering Current Approach Issues: No real Goal/ Objective to each meeting ─ Problem: a. Meetings could get off topic b. Too much time may be spent on unimportant issues. c. Important issues might not get covered Easy to Forget / Selective Memory ─ Problem: a. As soon as we walk out the door, we begin to forget b. Each one of us tends to pay attention to and/or remember what concerns us 3

4 University of Southern California Center for Systems and Software Engineering Current Approach (cont’d) What about the person who couldn’t attend? ─ Problem: a. He/she ends up asking other team members fill them in 4

5 University of Southern California Center for Systems and Software Engineering Improvements Goal Oriented Team Meetings The project manager should set up an agenda for each meeting with a list of topics that need to be covered. Goal Question Metric Meeting Minutes/Notes_ Who attended, what was covered, etc. Schedule to assure the meeting is on track. Benefits: + Issue Tracking + Can be used to evaluate team members and their attendance + Source to be used as a reference for current & future team members 5
