THE ABRAHAMIC COVENANT IT’S ROLE IN BRINGING ABOUT THE CELESTIAL EARTH AND KINGDOM

The Abrahamic Covenant is based on several fundamental premises:

Premise No. 1 -- Heavenly Father’s work and glory “is to is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39)

Obviously, this means that the work of Heavenly Father and Mother is to exalt as many of their children into the highest heaven or degree of the celestial kingdom as They can.

THE CELESTIAL KINGDOM D&C 76:50-70, 92-96; 88:20-32; 131:1-4; 132:4-25

76:50-70 is a description of those in the celestial kingdom not a prescription (this is seen in the use of “they are they” and “these are they” used throughout these verses)

THE CELESTIAL KINGDOM D&C 76:50-70, 92-96; 88:20-32; 131:1-4; 132:4-25 76:51-53 spiritually reborn and have endured to the end in keeping the commandments

THE CELESTIAL KINGDOM D&C 76:50-70, 92-96; 88:20-32; 131:1-4; 132:4-25 76:51-53 spiritually reborn and have endured to the end in keeping the commandments 76:54-57 they are heirs with Jesus Christ through the new and everlasting covenant of marriage, becoming kings and queens and priests and priestesses; i.e., they are gods, even sons and daughters of God

THE CELESTIAL KINGDOM D&C 76:50-70, 92-96; 88:20-32; 131:1-4; 132:4-25 76:51-53 spiritually reborn and have endured to the end in keeping the commandments 76:54-57 they are heirs with Jesus Christ through the new and everlasting covenant of marriage, becoming kings and queens and priests and priestesses; i.e., they are gods, even sons and daughters of God 76:66-67 These are they who have created a community of Zion on earth and have joined the eternal community of Zion in heaven

THE CELESTIAL KINGDOM D&C 76:50-70, 92-96; 88:20-32; 131:1-4; 132:4-25 76:51-53 spiritually reborn and have endured to the end in keeping the commandments 76:54-57 they are heirs with Jesus Christ through the new and everlasting covenant of marriage, becoming kings and queens and priests and priestesses; i.e., they are gods, even sons and daughters of God 76:66-67 These are they who have created a community of Zion on earth and have joined the eternal community of Zion 76:69 They have become perfect as Heavenly Father is perfect

THE CELESTIAL KINGDOM D&C 76:50-70, 92-96; 88:20-32; 131:1-4; 132:4-25 76:69 It is through the Atonement of Jesus Christ that this is accomplished: through the Atonement they are spiritually born again, through the Atonement they are made heirs to God, and through the Atonement they are given “power to become the sons of God” (D&C 11:30) or gods.

THE CELESTIAL KINGDOM D&C 76:50-70, 92-96; 88:20-32; 131:1-4; 132:4-25 76:95 and 88:107 Having given them all things, whether in life or death, or things present, or things to come, including “the keys of the kingdom of heav’n”, God has made them equal with himself in power, and in might, and in dominion (also see “A Vision,” Poetic Version of D&C 76, in Times and Seasons, Feb. 1843, pp. 82-85)

Premise No. 1 -- Heavenly Father’s work and glory “is to is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39) Premise No. 2 -- Heavenly Father uses law to accomplish all His purposes.

“And unto every kingdom is given a law; and unto every law there are certain bounds also and conditions.” (D&C 88:38) “And unto every kingdom is given a law; and unto every law there are certain bounds also and conditions.” (D&C 88:38)

Premise No.

Premise No.

Premise No.

Premise No. 2 -- Heavenly Father uses law to accomplish all His purposes. “For all who will have a blessing at my hands shall abide the law which was appointed for that blessing, and the conditions thereof, as were instituted from before the foundation of the world.” (D&C 132:5) “For all who will have a blessing at my hands shall abide the law which was appointed for that blessing, and the conditions thereof, as were instituted from before the foundation of the world.” (D&C 132:5)

Premise No. 2 -- Heavenly Father uses law to accomplish all His purposes. “There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated--And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.” (D&C 130:20-21) “There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated--And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.” (D&C 130:20-21)

Premise No. 2 -- Heavenly Father uses law to accomplish all His purposes. “I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise.” (D&C 82:10) “I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise.” (D&C 82:10)

Premise No. 2 -- Heavenly Father uses law to accomplish all His purposes. “Wherefore, verily I say unto you that all things unto me are spiritual [i.e., eternal], and not at any time have I given unto a law which was temporal; neither any man, nor the children of men; neither Adam, your father, whom I created.” (D&C 29:34)

Premise No. 2 -- Heavenly Father uses law to accomplish all His purposes. “... by my word, which is my law...” (D&C 132:12,19 “Thou shalt take the things which thou hast received, which have been given unto thee in my scriptures for a law, to be my law to govern my church” (D&C 42:59)

Premise No. 1 -- Heavenly Father’s work and glory “is to is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39) Premise No. 2 -- Heavenly Father uses law to accomplish all His purposes. Premise No. 3 – This earth will be the celestial world [i.e., globe] for the celestial kingdom.

For after it hath filled the measure of its creation, it shall be crowned with glory, even with the presence of God the Father; For after it hath filled the measure of its creation, it shall be crowned with glory, even with the presence of God the Father; That bodies who are of the celestial kingdom may possess it forever and ever; for, for this intent was it made and created, and for this intent are they sanctified. (D&C 88:18-20) That bodies who are of the celestial kingdom may possess it forever and ever; for, for this intent was it made and created, and for this intent are they sanctified. (D&C 88:18-20)

Premise No. 4--In the premortal realm, not all spirits progressed equally. (Al. 13:3; Abr. 3:22)

Premise No. 5—The Foreordination of the house of Israel (Deut. 32:8)

Premise No. 5—The Foreordination of the house of Israel Abraham 3:22-25— “Noble and Great ones” with “one among them that was like unto God”— Jesus Christ—who lead them under the direction of the Father. 28 Premise No. 5—The Foreordination of the house of Israel “Election” in the LDS Bible Dictionary A theological term primarily denoting God’’s choice of the house of Israel to be the covenant people with privileges and responsibilities, that they might become a means of blessing to the whole world (Rom. 9:11; 11:5, 7, 28). Election is an opportunity for service and is both on a national and an individual basis. On a national basis the seed of Abraham carry the gospel to the world. But it is by individual faithfulness that it is done. 29 Premise No. 5—The Foreordination of the house of Israel “Election” in the LDS Bible Dictionary The elect are chosen even “before the foundation of the world,”... An “election of grace” spoken of in D&C 84:98–102 and Rom. 11:1–5 has reference to one’s situation in mortality; that is, being born at a time, at a place, and in circumstances where one will come in favorable contact with the gospel. This election took place in the premortal existence. Those who are faithful and diligent in the gospel in mortality receive an even more desirable election in this life and become the elect of God. These receive the promise of a fulness of God’’s glory in eternity (D&C 84:33– 41). The elect are chosen even “before the foundation of the world,”...
