2. Click START > ALL Programs > Open PhotoStory 3. Begin a new story. You’ll use to change pages in the project 2

3. Click “Import Pictures” and browse & select the saved blank color images on your student # drive. Import at least eight blank color images. You can repeat colors if you want. Before you click “next,” Remove black borders. Answer “yes to all.” 3

5. Type a title & your name on a blank color. Then use your research sheet fact boxes to write information on at least 9 other boxes to type in here. You can change the color and size of text. Adding TEXT: Facts for your PhotoStory 5

Next Step: Gather Images Use drug name or other keywords to search for images, graphs, photos that show: Places or activities associated with use of your drug What the drug looks like in its different forms What drug users/abusers might look like. What might symbolize some of the facts you’ve learned about the nature of the drug. Important information about the drug. Search for 8+ PICTURES using Bing or Google Image Search. Student Resources in Context also has some good ones. For every image you might want to use: Right Click and Choose Save Picture As. Save under your student number. Then you’ll import those pics into PhotoStory. 6

7. Click “customize motion” to adjust how long each image will show. Click “number of seconds to display the picture” and set to 8 seconds for information images. Leave it on automatic for pictures. 7 Set Up Timings for Images in Your Movie Default is 5 seconds. Extend up to 7 seconds when there’s more to read.

8. Use an Internet search for the YouTube version of a song that fits your project to get its Internet address or “url.” http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ Then you’ll copy and paste the address from above into the file converter at this site. After downloading it to your (H:) Drive, you’ll be about to select it in Photostory.

9. When you are completely finished editing your project you will save it using this button. If you are still working on it, save it to your student number in project not movie form. How to Name Your File: period.firstname.lastname.drugname.wmv Save as a Windows Movie Viewer.wmv file to save to your H:Home Drive. Then paste a copy of that file: S:\Student Work\Shared\PE\Nick Brenner\Student Drop-Box. 8
