If this trend continues of an increasing wealth share to the richest, the top 1% will cross 50% wealth than the remaining 99% of people in just two years by 2016. -The wealth of these 80 individuals is now the same as that owned by the bottom 50% of the global population, such that 3.5 billion people share between them the -Every year, developing countries lose US$1tn from illicit financial flows. We should continue challenging our governments to: ► Uphold the primacy of human rights: States must be held accountability to all dev. actors adhere to human rights, including when they operate across borders. ► Tackle inequality and the overconcentration of wealth: must implement redistributive and progressive measures to promote equality. ► Rein in corporate power: States should adopt a strong independent regulatory framework to ensure and respecting human rights. ► Stop militarization and war: Governments should put a cap on military spending and progressively reduce this in order to promote sustainable development, social justice, and lasting peace.
