2. About this presentation This presentation is designed to help you understand how this class works. You should have a parent watch this presentation with you. Both of you will call me and leave a scripted message letting me know that you have viewed this presentation. At the end of the presentation, I will give you a password which is the answer to the Welcome Call Quiz.

Important Reminders This is a REAL class  This class WILL affect your high school GPA.  You will take the final exam at your regular school.  Exam dates are on the Pacing Guide – no one exempts  Verify in your Virtual School Account (VSA) that I have the correct phone number, e-mail and school guidance counselor for you (if not please change it) Read messages from me in VSA every day

5. Log into your Virtual School Account (VSA) Type your user name and password (you got this when you registered for the class)

6. Before Class Begins Login to VSA (https://scvspconnect.ed.sc.gov) Click on Student Records >> Student Profile

7. Check your Student Profile Confirm for accuracy: SUNS ID Name Birthday Email address(es) Phone Number(s) Mailing Address Save any changes.

10. Parent/Guardian Assignment Create a Guardian account in VSA  To receive bi-weekly progress reports  To receive/send messages to me through VSA Directions for creating a guardian account can be found at the parents tab on https://scvspconnect.ed.sc.govhttps://scvspconnect.ed.sc.gov

11. OK – I’ve read my messages, now what? Scroll down below messages to click the link for your class. Click the link for your class and a new window will open

12. I clicked the link and nothing happened. If you click the link for your class and a new window does not open, this means that you have pop-up blockers turned on. There are “how to” videos on the scvspconnect webpage to show how to turn off pop- up blockers. To go around the pop-up blockers, hold down the control (CTRL) key on your keyboard at the same time that you click the link. Do NOT release the control key until the new window begins to open.

15. Student Orientation You should complete the Student Orientation course BEFORE class officially begins. I will send out a message with the link to access it. The course has a lot of good information that will help this semester go more smoothly for you and me.
