Maths at Home Help your child to see that maths is part of everyday life, and that numbers are all around us For example: - House numbers – how many tens/ units in yours? What’s your telephone number as a number? E.g. School number 2365529 or 2,365,529 If the programme on TV starts at x and ends at y how long does it last? If x number books on one shelf estimate how many on the whole bookcase How much will the bill be in the shop? (Rounding) How much change will they need at the shop? How many slices of bread do they eat in a week?
