Standards & Fees NHI welcomes the publication of the National Quality Standards NHI has a partnership role to play in implementing new standards and managing long term care But the proposed HIQA Registration and Inspection Fee Structure is set at a punitive and unrealistic level, has outraged the sector. An acute hospital bed costs upwards of €7,000 per week. A public long stay bed cost €1,755 in 2006. A private and voluntary nursing home bed cost €1,000 per week in 2006.
