3. Spam  Spam is just like junk mail  Sometimes it might address you by name  The company sending the message is able to insert your name into the message- it does it for thousands of people’s names  Spam can have computer viruses attached to it

4. SPAM in other messages  You might also see SPAM on other things like Facebook, Twitter, or even online games you are playing  It will contain a link to something that is being advertised or maybe it just looks suspicious

5.  If you have an email from an unknown person in your inbox – DELETE it  Do NOT open it Opening Spam sends a message to the company that you got it, and they will continue to send you spam

6.  If you see suspicious looking links or advertisements online, just ignore them

7.  If you open a message by mistake, don’t click on links or download files that come with it.  Never reply to emails or messages from people you don’t know  Don’t reply to spam  Watch out for messages that ask for your private information. No one should ever do that.  Do not reply or click on links that you do not trust  Tell an adult you trust about any message that makes you uncomfortable or comes from someone you don’t know.

8.  Sometimes the email or post comes from people you know!  Never click on a link in an email or in a post unless you ask the person first if they sent you a link

9.  Tell a trusted adult  Run your antivirus software
