4. Research Results The main objective is to get students reading an entire text in Spanish rather than just paragraphs or short stories. Research shows that reading one complete story gives students continuity and facilitates comprehension.

5. “La casa en Mango Street” By using the text, students see the grammar in actual usage The language is easy for teenagers to read The story appeals to teens

6. Results Researchers found that this approach invites students to apply their knowledge of grammar. Once the novel is completed, students can read short stories and grasp the grammar points addressed

7. Por and para – the lecture Examine the use of prepositions in the novel Demonstrate the difference using examples Graphic organizers

8. Discussion sessions Apply knowledge of the grammar Fix grammar mistakes Form – focused instruction – TA leads the discussion session

9. In class discussions Discussions are designed to target the grammar points being addressed each week.
