POPULAR MUSIC 1 – DEMONSTRATE AN UNDERSTANDING OF CRITICAL LISTENING SKILLS AS APPLIED TO RECORDED EXAMPLES OF POPULAR MUSIC POPULAR MUSIC 4 – IDENTIFY AND ANALYZE, THROUGH CRITICAL LISTENING AND/OR OTHER FORMS OF STUDY, FOUR STYLES OF POPULAR MUSIC, WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO MUSICAL ELEMENTS AND STRUCTURES BY THE END OF CLASS YOU WILL BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE VARIOUS STYLES OF ROCK THAT BECAME DEFINED IN THE 1970S.

EXPANSION BECOMES DEFINITION As music expanded in the 1960s, it became so broad that by the 1970s, a lot of definition of separate rock genres develops.
