a vision of Jesus isaiah 6:1-5 page 485
19
any vision for a church needs to start with a vision of God
20
Jesus sits upon a throne. He is first and foremost sovereign.
21
Jesus is high and lifted up. He is worthy of worship. He is central to all things.
22
Jesus' robe fills the temple. His beauty is uncontainable and infinite.
23
to seraphim, it’s not about them. they want Jesus' face to be seen. He is the focus.
24
Jesus’ power and centrality and beauty lead us to His holiness, His perfection.
25
we should be like isaiah: recognizing who our God really is…and humiliated and ashamed at who we are in light of who He is.
26
isaiah 48:8-11 page 516
27
from birth, we are rebels against a holy and infinitely beautiful sovereign God
28
God has every right to toss us aside like rag dolls, in light of how we have demoted His name.
29
but instead, He restrains Himself. there is another plan.
30
sin is not what we do…. it’s who we are.
31
open rebellion vs. religious rebellion
32
isaiah 52:3, 6-12 page 519-520
33
He has not saved us because of who we are, but who He is.
34
Good news brings joy into a hopeless situation. The good news is this: our God reigns.
35
the joy of who God is erupts into celebration, singing, and delight
36
first, realize that you have been saved from the holy wrath of God. then strive to be like Him.
37
we are to be mirrors of God to a lost and crumbling city
38
the plan isn’t religion or a false God. the plan is God’s exalted servant, Jesus.
39
Jesus vs. open rebellion
40
Jesus vs. religious rebellion
41
this church is nothing without Christ.
42
there will be 170,000 people in the year 2025…not in need of Harmony Church…but in need of Jesus. what does our part look like?
43
6 regional church plants: Uptown, Winterville, Farmville, Ayden-Grifton, Bethel, Falkland-Fountain
44
A Home Group in every Greenville neighborhood.
45
9,000 leaders serving the city through Harmony Church.
46
It all begins with seeing Jesus as sovereign, central, beautiful, and holy, then reflecting Him to the city.
47
questions 1)do you see Jesus as sovereign and central? 2)do you rely on yourself as savior, or sing for joy in Jesus as Savior? 3)is your heart moved by God’s act in saving us? 4)do you strive to reflect Jesus to a lost and crumbling city?
48
Sing aloud, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem! The Lord has taken away the judgments against you; He has cleared away your enemies. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you shall never again fear evil. On that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: “Fear not, O Zion; let not your hands grow weak. The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by his love; He will exult over you with loud singing. zephaniah 3:14-17
