2.  The Pleiades constellation is sometimes called the 7 Sisters. It’s technical name is M45.  There were 11 stars actually mapped before the invention of the telescope.  Pleiades means ‘sail’ in Greek, referring when they thought it was safe to sail

3.  Visible from every inhabited place on the planet  Most people see 6 stars, not 7  The Zuni of New Mexico called the Pleiades the “seed stars” because its disappearance in the evening sky every spring signals seed planting season.

4.  The names of the 7 stars are Pleione, Maia, Electra, Alcyone, Taygeta, Merope, and Sterope  One stars brightness changes, it is Pleione

5.  Some people say they see as many as 20 different stars  The Pleiades served as a calendar for many civilizations
