2 WHY ARE BURROWING OWLS IMPORTANT If burrowing owls become extinct then the animals that eat them might starve and they can become extinct too. Another reason why burrowing owls are important is that if burrowing owls become extinct there will be too many mice and other animals owls eat.

3 WERE YOU CAN FIND BURROWING OWLS IN CANADA You can find these owls at the southern side of Canada in a bit of Manitoba, and some of Alberta, Saskatchewan and in a tiny part of British Columbia. They live in prairies under the ground in burrows.

4 WHY ARE BURROWING OWLS DIFFERENT THEN OTHER OWLS Burrowing owl Burrowing owls are better at running then flying Burrowing owls live in underground burrows Other owls Other owls usually fly instead of running Other owls live in trees

5 HOW CAN YOU SAVE BURROWING OWLS One way you can save burrowing owls is you can dig holes for them because some of them cant make burrows themselves. Another way is to stop building houses and roads through prairies where burrowing owls live Stop using pesticides because burrowing owls eat Insects and if they eat a poisoned insect they can die

7 WHEN BURROWING OWLS GET ANGRY If you got to its burrow it will get mad and look like the picture on the left Also if you hurt one the family of burrowing owls will get angry and attack you

They are one of the smallest owls in North America 3.They eat moles, mice, grasshoppers, beetles, small birds, small amphibians, and small reptiles 4.They are active in the day and night 5.They live 100 yards apart from other burrowing owl family's 6.They collect a lot of materials like twigs to place around there nests
