Grant is divided into three Big Buckets: 1.At least 20% of the grant to provide students with a well-rounded education; 2.At least 20% to support safe schools and healthy students; 3.At least 20% to support the effective use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students. 2 Student Support & Academic Enrichment Formula Grant

What’s in the well-rounded Education Bucket? 1.)High quality courses in STEM; 2.)Activities and programs in music and the arts; 3.)Financial literacy and federal financial aid awareness; 4.) Accelerated learning programs such as AP courses, 2+2 programs that provide college credit to high schoolers; 5.)College & Career guidance and counseling programs; 6.)Other courses, activities or experiences that contribute to a well rounded education; 7.)Facilitate school, after school, informal program personnel to improve instruction in certain subjects; 8.)Foreign language instruction.. 3

What’s in the safe schools and healthy students bucket? 1.)Creating programs that reduce exclusionary discipline; 2.)Expand access to mental health and counseling services; 3.)Promote student safety and violence prevention; 4.)Drug and violence prevention activities; 5.)School-based mental health services; 6.)Supporting healthy, active lifestyle with nutrition education and structured physical education; 7.)Help to prevent bullying and harassment; 8.)Provide mentoring and school counseling to all students; 9.)Programs to improve school drop-out & re-entry programs.

What’s in the effective use of technology bucket? 1.)Provide educators with tools, devices and content to personalize learning to improve student achievement; 2.)Build technological capacity and infrastructure; 3.)Hardware and software to address readiness shortfalls; 4.)Carrying out blended learning projects with PDs for staff; 5.)Provide PD for teachers & school leaders on use of tech; 6.)Provide students in rural areas with the resources for digital learning & on-line classes taught by HETs; 7.)Implement and support district-wide tech instruction.
