Focus: 5/19 The Industrial Revolution brought production out of the home and into the factory. This technology allowed goods to be produced faster, and in more quantity. Karl Marx argued that conditions created by the Industrial Revolution took advantage of the proletariat, while others argued that the Industrial Revolution was a good thing that created jobs. Objective: Identify factors that led to the Industrial Revolution and explain the impacts while analyzing the positives and negatives.

The Berlin Conference divided Africa among European nations. India was dominated by the British and used to primarily grow cash crops. The Middle East became important due to oil and the strategic power of the Suez Canal in Egypt. Objectives: Analyze factors that led to imperialism.
