2  Due to a hard winter, the crops failed to be profitable. In order to raise revenue, Napoleon decided to sell the hens’ eggs. The hens’ objected to the idea denouncing it murder. The hens’ rebellion caused Napoleon to cut their rations entirely. Napoleon sent his dogs’ to end the rebellion. This resulted in nine hens’ dying; the farm animals were told the hens’ died of natural causes. Squealer announced rumors that Snowball was sabotaging the animals work. Days later, Napoleon demands knowledge of any meetings with Snowball. Once an animal confessed to conversing with Snowball the dogs immediately killed them. The incident left many animals contemplating the first rebellion from Jones and what they wanted to achieve from it. Due to this, the animal started singing Beasts of England. Napoleon demanded this song to never be sung again. He installed a new anthem for the farm, which was “Animal Farm, Animal Farm through me shalt thou come to harm.”
