1  Second meeting of the scientific working group in Berlin on 19 March  Preliminary search results for 12 countries or regions were presented and discussed, including: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Europe, Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom  No contribution from France (and no contact since first meeting)  Italy joined the initiative and provided first input Current status of the JPI data project

3  Type of data – Registry, regular/ occasional or longitudinal survey  Governance – Contact information, timeliness, transparency  Conditions of access – Ease, conditions of access, language issues  Coverage – Sample size, population sample covered, geographic al area  Linkage – Harmonized standards, possibility of linkage among different national datasets  Data quality – Entry errors, breaks, consistency of terminology  Strengths and weaknesses – Expert opinion, from national experts and data agencies Appraisal criteria for the evaluation of data sources

4  Impressive response in terms of scope and detail  Compilation of preliminary search results = 170 pages plus 3 national reports in Excel Responses

5 Next steps  Integration of written national reports  Set-up of an online data entry tool  Design and programming of a searchable database  Formulation of policy recommendations, i.e. data needs = Focus of the next meeting in Berlin on 3 June 2013  Alignment with the SRA draft for the final report  First draft of the final report will be sent to experts on 15 July 2013  Experts have to provide feedback until 9 August 2013  Final report ready for submission to the GA on 30 August 2013
