Ancient Chinese clothing is different than New York or Paris
Ancient Chinese clothing is different than New York or Paris. Chinese clothing had intricate design. The Chinese culture had lots of interesting things to hear about but now lets look at clothing and see were hat goes.

SILK AND COTTON People who were rich were the ones to usually wear silk. People in China invented silk more than 500 years ago. The thread of silk is from there from the cocoon of a silk worm. The rich people didn’t want to stop manufacturing silk so they rejected cotton and kept on making silk the other people didn’t want to wear hemp or ramie anymore and started wearing cotton. The people who were rich started wearing cotton because there were problems manufacturing silk. Cotton was very soft, cheap, comfortable and was stronger and you could change cotton’s thinness and thickness.

What they wore Women wore long tunics and men wore shorter tunics. The outfit for ceremonies is the “pien-fu.” The “pien-fu” goes down to the knees with a skirt or trousers. The “chang-pao” was a one piece. It was from the shoulder down to the heels. The “shen-i” was most popular. It was a combination of the “pien-fu” and the “chang-pai.” The “shen-I” included a tunic with a skirt or trousers. The skirts or trousers were attached to the tunic.

Emperors In the AD’s the emperor made a rule that poor people would wear black and blue clothes and only rich people could wear colors. The emperor seemed very strict about that.
