3 Street Life: The Invisible Family  Although this video is dated, the problem of homeless families still exists.  Watch the video, what’s important is NOT WHAT YOU SEE, BUT,WHAT YOU DON’T SEE!  Jot down your thoughts on what is missing from normal, healthy family life, we’ll discuss

4 So, what did you not see?  When dealing with children who act out, the first step is to “peel down the onion” and try to determine what is missing from their lives.  As a mid-term question, I’m going to ask you what you would do if a homeless shelter opened in you’re your school’s neighborhood.

5 Discussion/Thoughts  What government agency is responsible for homeless families?  Why might homeless families avoid signing up for services?  Why does the military contribute so much to homelessness?  Where is the nearest homeless shelter?

6 Bits and Pieces  Between 2.3-2,5 MILLION Americans experience homelessness each year  26% of homeless people are Veterans  13.000 female Veterans are homeless
