14 Questions?  Does the board wish to follow the recommendation of the finance committee and adjust the master scale to reflect $3500 for master level compensation and doctorate level compensation? What are the costs to do so?  Master Scale- increase to budget is $39,017   No teacher would see a decrease in their pay.  Doctorate scale increase to budget- Possibly one teacher $4,000

15 The budget is being built on the following: 1. Step increases for all employees $153,000

16  Professional Development Activities  Increase in slots for MVGS – from 4 to 8  Health Insurance Increases - up 3%  VRS Mandated Increase (from 16.31 to 16.95)  Addition of $11,000 contribution for athletic trainer (employee of Valley Health)  Addition of Capital Improvement allowance  Decrease in gas, diesel, and sped transport reimbursements  Decrease in heating fuels  Additional state revenues of $153,668.00 and additional federal revenues of $19,367.00 as well as debt service decrease. These reflect an additional $172,235.00 to our budget.  Decrease of one position  Bottom line of budget is dependent on General Assembly budget which we should know about in a week. 2. Other Changes to the Budget

17 How does the Governor’s Budget, the Senate and House Budgets differ?  Governor’s Budget: Provides additional funding for the state’s share of a 2% salary increase for SOQ instructional and support positions effective July 2017  House: Salary increases given during FY17 toward satisfying the local match requirement for 2.0% salary increase offered by the state in FY18.  Senate: Includes state support for a 2% SOQ salary increase, effective December 2016. This would mean funding the 2% in this FY budget. GOVERNOR'SSENATEHOUSE $2,926,886$2,931,027$2,873,150
