ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT

Decisions about development Some people think all development must be a good thing. But all types of development have one feature in common, that is they involve change. Usually these changes are permanent and irreversible. This is why it is important to make sure that such decisions are the right ones.

Development is for people, but so is the environment. In many cases developments are planned and carried out without adequate knowledge of the existing environmental conditions or of the possible damage to the environment, which might be caused by the development.
