Aim: What are the Seven Sacraments? I.Sacraments are special encounters through which God’s life enters our lives in the liturgy through the work of the Holy Spirit A.Mystical Body of Christ are the members of the Church formed into a spiritual body and bound together by the life communicated by Jesus Christ through the sacraments B.The work of the Holy Spirit enables us to carry out our mission as his disciples

Aim: What are the Sacrament of Initiation? I. Baptism frees us from original sin and gives us a new life in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit 3/16 2 nd p A. You become a temple of the Trinity and share in God’s life (grace) B. Members of the Mystical Body of Christ C. Admits one onto Christ’s roles of 1. Priest 2. Prophet 3. King

II.Confirmation completes the grace we receive at Baptism A. Baptismal gifts are deepened and perfected B.Bishop lays his hands and anoints you with chrism C.Renews your call to witness 3/16 3 rd period III.Eucharist we give thanks to God for the Body and Blood of Christ, which we receive in the form of bread and wine 3/17 2 nd period A. We become one with Jesus and with one another B.The community is strengthened and nourished C.Prepares us to carry our Christ mission to love one another

Aim: What is the RCIA? I. RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process of instruction through which a person is formed in the Christian life through instruction and by example of the parish community 1 st and 2 nd period 5/16 II. Three steps A. Catechumenate - time of instruction, they are called inquirers 5/18 B. Election - first Sunday of Lent they sign their names, enrollment, before the Bishop that they will be ready to receive sacraments at Easter. Now called Elect C. Initiation - the celebration of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist at the Easter Vigil
