Leviticus 13 45 ‘Anyone with such a defiling disease must wear torn clothes, let their hair be unkempt, cover the lower part of their face and cry out, “Unclean! Unclean!” 46 As long as they have the disease they remain unclean. They must live alone; they must live outside the camp.

Leviticus 11 Verse 2: “Of all the animals that live on land…” Verse 9: “Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas…” Verse 13: “These are the birds …”

Why are these animals Unclean? Hygiene? Used in Pagan Worship? They represent something else?

Leviticus 11 41 ‘“Every creature that moves along the ground is to be regarded as unclean; it is not to be eaten. 42 You are not to eat any creature that moves along the ground, whether it moves on its belly or walks on all fours or on many feet; it is unclean. 43 Do not defile yourselves by any of these creatures. Do not make yourselves unclean by means of them or be made unclean by them.

Genesis 3 V14: ‘Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly…” V17: “‘Cursed is the ground because of you…” V22-23: ”He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live for ever.’ So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden…”

Israel = NEW Adam. Canaan = NEW Garden of Eden These Food Laws = NEW food prohibition.

Mark 7 20 He went on: ‘What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come – sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.’

Hebrews 10 1 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming – not the realities themselves.
