2. RICKETTSIAE o Among microbes, Rickettsia has a wonderful name. o As it denotes the name of the American Scientist “Haward Taylor Ricckette” for his valuable contribution in discovery of “Rocky Mountain Spotted fever” o They are obligate intracellular gram negative parasites.

4.  This is prokaryotic intracellular parasite smaller than bacteria and bigger than Viruses.  Although is living on Lice, Tickes, Fleas and hosts on Arthropods and Chicken egg.  Very recently, they have been discovered in xylem cells of citrus and live in cattle’s, Goats and water as a medium, because, it does not show motion.

5.  It do not possess Flagella or Cilia  Do not produce endospores  The organism needs host cells to continue their generation.
