3 AGRICULTURE SECTOR PERFORMANCE Food crop production grew twice as fast as population growth between 2007 and 2014. GDP growth averaged 7.6% per year since 2000 Poverty rate 39% in 2014 Agriculture sector: 31% of GDP Agriculture sector grew on average 5% per year (2005-2015) Agriculture accounted for 45% of poverty reduction from 2001- 2011

4 Poverty is still high: 39% Small average land size: 0.23 ha Most of ag land degraded: 39-51% Inadequate access to productive inputs High stunting rates: 38% KEY CHALLENGES
