4. KIDNEYS Kidneys are bean- shape organs. Functions: regulate the blance of electrolytes in the blood, remove of waste products, regulation of blood pressure

5. WHAT IS GLOMERULONEPHRITIS ? Is inflammation of the glomeruli, wich are structures in your kidney that are made up of tiny blood vessels. If your glomeruli are damaged, your kidneys will stop working properly and you can go into kidney failure

6. CAUSES  Strep throat.  Systemic lupus erythematosus: autoimmune disease attack your kidneys.  Heavy use of non- steroidal anti- inflammatory drugs.

7. SYMPTOMS  Edema.  Urinating less often.  Blood in your urine.  High blood pressure.  Headache.

8. DIAGNOSED  Urinalysis test: protein in the urine.  Blood test: anemia, high creatinine levels.  Kidney ultrasound.  Biopsy.

9. TREATMENTS  Control high blood pressure.  Corticosteroids.  Reduce the amount of preoteins, salt and potassium in your diet.  Watch how much liquid you drink.  Diuretics to reduce swelling.

10. COMPLICATIONS  Acute kidney failure.  Chronic kidney disease.  High blood pressure.  Pulmonary edema.
