School Council Fundraiser

We have decided to ask all of you what charity you would like to donate money to. We are going to each vote for one of the charities that we discuss in this assembly next week. We are going to raise money by having a non-uniform day.

The Food Bank Every day people go hungry in our local area because of many problems. The Food Bank works by people donating food such as pasta, rice and tins which those who are struggling can collect for free.

Water Aid Diarrhoea caused by dirty water and bad sanitation is the second biggest child killer worldwide. A lack of clean water and toilets keeps girls out of school, stops women from working, and traps people in poverty.

Guide Dogs Every hour, another person in the UK goes blind, which means we need to train more guide dog puppies. Sponsor a puppy from just £1 a week, and we'll send you regular Pupdates and photos, so you can follow your puppy's journey to becoming a life-changing companion for a person with sight loss.

NSPCC Childhood should be a time we're free to dream Abuse can destroy that – but it never should. That's why we're here. Every year, with your support, we help keep one million children safe from abuse and neglect.

Rainbow Trust We provide emotional and practical support for families who have a seriously ill child. We offer the whole family support 24/7 regardless of diagnosis and for as long as it is needed. Our vision is for all families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness to have access to a Rainbow Trust carer at this time of great need.

WWF – Adopting an animal Powerful, captivating and incredibly vulnerable to threats like poaching, loss of prey and conflict with people. Help us protect this endangered big cat.

You will have the opportunity to vote for one of these charities this week. Your votes will be collected by the school council and announced next week.
