WHAT IS MESSAGE The verbal and non-verbal form of the idea, thought, or feeling that the sender wishes to communicate to another person Content of the interaction

WHAT IS CHANNEL Is the means/medium by which a message moves from the source to the receiver of the message Function as a bridge that connecting source and receiver E:g: face to face contacts telephone email chat groups radio television

WHAT IS NOISE Any interference in the encoding and decoding process that reduces the clarity of a message. Can be physical noise, mental noise, psychological noise

HEARING VS LISTENING? Hearing- sense that allows you to perceive sound; physical act- only requires reception of sound waves For instance, you hear while you sleep Listening- mental process that requires concentrating on sound, deriving meaning from it, and reacting to it
