In your own words, describe the miracle that took place in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost. How does this miracle show God’s desire for His gospel to go forth to the nations? How does Acts 1:8 reinforce this fact?

5. 2. The Church Proclaims the Message of Christ In verses 17-21, Peter quoted the prophet Joel who prophesied of the signs and wonders that would accompany the coming of the Spirit. Why do you think Peter quoted the Old Testament? What “signs” helped convince you of the truth of the gospel? What are some examples of the confirmatory signs that were given in the life of Jesus?

What things do churches sometimes put their attention into that might cause them to get distracted from these key priorities? Through whom did God perform the signs and wonders in the apostolic age?
