3 Catholicism -3 million adherents -Roman Catholic is the majority -Dominant religion in rural areas and in the cities Orthodox -The number of adherents has tripled in the past 20 years -1% of the total population Judaism -Most large cities have a Jewish community

4 Buddhism and Hinduism -Represent 0.5% of the population -Mainly in Bern and Zurich Islam -More than 150,000 belong to a Swiss Muslim community Protestantism -2 nd largest church in the country -2.7 million people
