Expectations I expect to gain valuable knowledge about the use of technology in my classroom. I expect to be able to implement technology throughout my curriculum. I expect to plan valuable lessons implementing technology to enable my students to learn to the best of their abilities.
4
Actual Learning Create PowerPoint presentations. Creating links from web pages to other web pages. Create charts & graphs in Excel.
5
Successes & Shortcomings My students were able to make several real-world connections to their learning in this lesson. They were excited to break away from the standard textbook-lesson format. The finished student products were clean and easy for me to assess, much neater than attempting to read student handwriting. On the other hand, I am wary of the students becoming overly-reliant of the computer in the learning process.
6
Shortcomings in a Nutshell Students did not want to refer to the textbook, primary sources, or secondary readings. Students wanted to “surf the net” rather than to stay on task. Students need additional computer training, especially in Internet and Powerpoint.
7
Successes in a Nutshell Student excitement was very high as we entered the lesson. Students were able to make several real- world connections to their coursework. Student work was clean, organized, and easy to assess.
8
Student Data The chart to the left shows the student scores on the pretest and posttest. All students showed marked improvement from the beginning to the end---evidence of considerable student learning in this lesson.
9
Summary of Revisions The data shows considerable learning on the part of the students during this technology-based lesson. The data is significant because it shows that student-learning improves when technology is inserted into traditional curriculums. The following revisions were made during ctap295: Objectives Update website Pretest & Posttest to meet objectives

Suggested Revisions RevisionSuggestions ObjectivesRefinement. Update WebsiteHave student check links. Pretest/PosttestModify to meet refined objectives.

Conclusions I believe that it is vitally important that we as educators continue to implement technology into our lessons. The student of today is being raised in a society that is ever- changing and steadily more reliant upon technology. If we truly are preparing our students for the “real world”, then our lessons must also reflect that realm. The student data in my lesson is proof that learning can be greatly enhanced with the implementation of technology. I, therefore, will continue to include technology in my lessons to better prepare my seniors for the world they will enter as they graduate.
