3 Technical Activities Committee Award Health Status Not presented in 2016 (July 1 Nomination Deadline):  Survivability Award – Not enough nominations. One new completed nomination submitted by July 1 deadline. Also one incomplete nomination. Nomination deadline extension NOT approved by VP TAC Riley. TAC will continue to discuss future of the two Missile Sciences Awards.

4 Technical Activities Committee Award Changes Aerodynamics Measurement Technology Award:  The Aerodynamics Measurement Technology (AMT) TC would like to switch it’s biennial award from and even year schedule to an odd year schedule. The reason is to spread out workload of the TC.  The next Award is due to be presented in June 2016 (AVIATION) and has a nomination deadline of October 1, 2015. Currently 3 valid nominations are on file and 2 more will be submitted by the October 1 deadline.  The TC would like to present the 2016 Award, receive any new nominations in Oct. 2016, give the following award in June 2017, and then follow the odd year schedule  Approved by TAC Exec via email vote conducted July 20-27, 2015. Motion:  Approve the request of the AMT TC to switch the AMT Award (biennial) from an even year schedule to an odd year schedule. As a part of the transition, they will present the next Award in June 2016 and the following in June 2017, then move to a biennial odd year schedule. HAC Approved on July 30, 2015.

5 Technical Activities Committee Integrated Computational Materials Engineering Prize Sponsored by AIAA Materials TC with support of Composite Design and Manufacturing HUB (cdmHUB), NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and Rolls Royce Corporation funding. (see attached). $1500 team award with AIAA Foundation Agreement in place. Inaugural ICME Prize Time Schedule:  Description of Contest, Request for Proposal release and Potential Collaborators Meeting - at SciTech 2016 (Jan. 4-8, 2016)  Letter of intent to propose due to the ICME award team (Jan. 29, 2016)  Contestant Proposed Project Descriptions as SciTech Abstract (June 2, 2016)  Acceptance (or rejection) letter to Contestants (Aug 3, 2016)  Final Report due to the ICME award team (June 2, 2017)  Each team must give final presentation at SciTech 2018 (Jan. 2018)  Winning team announced meeting during Recognition Luncheon at SciTech 2018

6 Technical Activities Committee Integrated Computational Materials Engineering Prize Motion:  Approve the request of the Materials TC to create the Integrated Computational Materials Engineering Prize. HAC Approved on July 30, 2015. Board will vote on Sept. 2, 2015.

7 Technical Activities Committee Information – Award Changes - Pending TAC Approval Space Processing Award:  The Microgravity and Space Processes TC would like to permanently change the venue of presentation of it’s biennial award from the AIAA SPACE Forum to the American Society for Gravitational and Space Research (ASGSR) Annual Meeting, where the TC normally holds is annual TC meeting.  TAC and HAC approved one-time venue changes for 2013 and 2015 Awards.  TAC discussed at the Sept. 2015 TAC Exec Meeting.  Peter Montgomery agreed to work with TC to understand its future plans with regards to Forum Participation and determine best place to hold Award Presentation.  Will revisit at January meetings.
