MTA Data Acquisition System K. Yonehara APC, Fermilab 1/14/15MTA DAQ, K. Yonehara1
2
Goal in today’s discussion Suggestion from data analysis group – Configuration of MTA DAQ system Organize experimental group Urgent item Fast counter system for BD study 1/14/15MTA DAQ, K. Yonehara2
3
What is missing for data analysis in past RF tests? Unclear log – It should tell “When”, “Who”, “What”, (“Why”,) and “How” Need more documentations – We should have documents which should include a hazard, goal, run plan, instruction manual including with the spec of detector system, block diagram, organization, drawing etc Quick analysis – Ideally, data analysis group should provide daily analysis result to the experimental group 1/14/15MTA DAQ, K. Yonehara3
4
Required for systematic analysis Clear log – “When”, “Who”, “What”, (“Why”,) and “How” – Update configuration if it is changed – Write down anything even tiny issues – Hypothesis is fine – Make a log book (paper media) 1/14/15MTA DAQ, K. Yonehara4
5
Required for systematic analysis Documentation set – Run plan – Specification of detector system Location Type Cable configuration – ex) S1L+RG58(3’)+Lecroy ch1… Signal calibration Timing calibration 1/14/15MTA DAQ, K. Yonehara5
6
Required for systematic analysis Data storage – Daily update – Our official data storage server is MTA3 1/14/15MTA DAQ, K. Yonehara6
7
Configuration of DAQ system First step: Oscilloscope setting – Lecroy is the primary scope First RF pickup BD light signal – RF signals should go to Tektronix Second RF pickup Forward & reflected – Do not touch Lecroy once it sets for DAQ mode – Use Tektronix to quickly check RF signals 1/14/15MTA DAQ, K. Yonehara7
8
Organization of MTA MTA administration – Palmer-Bross-Torun Experimental group – Pasquinelli MICE: ? (originally Chung) Modular: Bowring HPRF: Yonehara – Data analysis group Each group has their own I contributed for MICE and HPRF groups 1/14/15MTA DAQ, K. Yonehara8
9
Install fast counter Measure RF phase vs dark current as a function of peak RF gradient Present plastic counter is too slow Alvin and I can prepare for a new counter 1/14/15MTA DAQ, K. Yonehara9
