Harare www.harare.unesco.org UNESCO Portal Workshop5 Paris : 22-26 Nov 2004 Editorial workflow Metadata keywords definitions on homepage and some pages… Typical workflow prior to uploading: Content is solicited from the sectors through the Programme Specialists, the Admin Officer, and also from the Director’s office. News content on the homepage is extracted from information from the regular electronic newsletter. Frequency of update is also a factor of activity implementation rate, and participation in other fora.

Specialists Editors – 2 university interns studying journalism (draft summaries), then Programme Specialists (including the Director) review and finalise content. Web administrators – 1 ICT specialist who is also a trainer. Financing – staff time (use in-house skills) Promotion – letterheads, email, partner sites,e- newsletter, business cards…
