3 The Director General Mandate extended to end 2015 “We felt that the LHC's first long shutdown needed management continuity, given the important nature of the work to be carried out” – Walter van Doninck, Belgian Delegate to Council

5 Stakeholder survey Project by MBA students at University of Geneva Title: Strategy and institutional communication in non-profit organisation: improving community engagement and securing long-term resources in times of economic hardship. Case study: CERN Deliverables: methodology and tool to continuously measure the variations on the level of engagement of CERN’s key stakeholders; ideas for an improved strategy for communication focused on the stakeholders to ensure their continued support and commitment of sustainable resources. Timescale: April 2012- August 2012 Question for EPPCN: Should the survey be conducted CERN-wide (current membership and potential member States), or should it be limited to four members (e.g. France, Austria, Romania, Portugal)? Request for EPPCN: recommend contacts from member states to approach with the survey within the three stakeholders’ groups: governments, scientific communities and industry/private sector. Contact: Marzena.Lapka@cern.ch
