3. My name is Yolanda Gibson and I reside in Memphis, TN. I have the pleasure of being the mother to a beautiful 13 year old daughter. Currently, unemployed I spend most of my time volunteering and working to complete my Masters and licensure in Special Education. I have obtained an Associate degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering Technology and Bachelor degree in Elementary Education. I realize that being in the present of kids fulfilled my heart with vast delight. Who Am I

4. Professional Goals To obtain my MAED with concentration in special education. Open an enrichment center to education children ages 1 ½ to 5. To prepare small age children with fundamental skills necessary to be ahead academically by two grade levels. The MAED program I pursued at Ashford has supported me with valuable knowledge, tools, strategies, skills, and resources to utilize in achieving my professional goals.

5. Challenges Continuing to remain focus, determine, and driven when the course load seemed huge during the time I had surgery. I previous worked ahead on assignments before surgery; during this time it was difficult at it times I felt I was getting behind. I speak with the instructor to request additional tine and overworked myself to stay focus, on time, and on track which was what I was accustomed too. The experience taught me how to remain organized, knowledgeable, and focus to teach my students how to apply study skills strategies with avoiding interferes.

6. Professional Background I worked as a substitute teacher for nine years in vary grade levels. My professional interest is aimed to work in Special Education in an Elementary School. Completing this master will support my passion to assist gifted and talent children.

7. Personal Interest I enjoy being a full-time mother, volunteer, reading books, girl scout troop mom, praise dance instructor, youth advisor at church, relaxing with friends, listening to live jazz bands, going to the movies, theater shows, traveling, and shopping. But most of all I enjoy spending time with my wonderful daughter.
