2 POLISH-NORWEGIAN RESEARCH PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTED UNDER THE NORWEGIAN FINANCIAL MECHANISM 2009-2014 THE CORE 2012 CALL FOR PROPOSALS The objective the Polish-Norwegian Research Programme is enhanced research-based knowledge development in Poland through enhanced research cooperation between Poland and Norway. The cooperation is to be based on equal partnerships between Norwegian and Polish research institutions, with the leading role of the latter. Mechanisms implemented to intensify this cooperation include the mobility component, allowing the Polish and Norwegian project partners to take advantage of research expertise of the other partner.

3 Low Emission Optimised tyres and road surfaces for electric and hybrid vehicles SINTEF, Norway (Truls Berge) Gdansk University of Technology - TUG, Poland (Jerzy Ejsmont) GOAL OF THE PROJECT: The project aims to demonstrate the state-of- the-art technology for tyres developed for electric and hybrid vehicles, which are optimized for low rolling resistance and low tyre/road noise. The project will demonstrate the potential reduction of energy consumption for EV and HV using optimized tyres and road surfaces under urban conditions.
