1 Panch-phal scheme in Chittorgarh district A panchayat horticulture initiative under MGNREGA

2 Objectives of the scheme  To develop the unused and encroached Charagah or pasture land managed by gram panchayat  Creation of productive permanent asset for generations  A self dependent panchayat  Right utilisation of MGNREGA fund  Financial upgradation of rural poor  Better environment and greenery around the villages  Availability of fruits for mid day meals and better nutrition  Checking of soil erosion  Removal of unauthorised encroachments from charagah land.  3745.92 hectares of charagah was freed from 7471 encroachers in a massive drive

3 Implementation of the scheme  identification of lands in all 11 blocks of Chittorgarh  163 works sanctioned each on 5 hectares of land  selection of plants as per local climate and soil  convergence with other schemes like NHM, TFC, CSR, MLA LAD  provision of ditch cum bund fencing and night guard  provision of drip irrigation, pesticides, fertilizers etc  Plantation of more than 1 lakh fruit plants on 92 work sites out of 173 sanctioned works  Training of sarpanches and officials for effective monitoring of the works

10 CONVERGENCE  Water source for irrigation like tube-well and water tank etc were supported by TFC  Drip irrigation and plantations were subsidised in National Horticulture Mission  Help and support of corporates and MLAs was taken for meshed wire and barbed wire fencing around the panchphal plantation to protect it from animals and encroachers
