Background Information Career plans: Here is a simple way for you to get started.Take a blank sheet of paper and draw a very large “T” on the paper.Write on the left side of the t skills or jobs you have most enjoyed over the years; on the other half of the T skills or jobs you did not enjoy.Consider your past work history,hobbies and volunteer experiences when filling in your “T” area. Then get additional career ideas. Make a note of them and add them to your list of potential careers to further research.

Choose a career you can enjoy, not one that is only directed at making money.You will need passion and enthusiasm to learn new things and push yourself to great height. After searching careers you find interesting, narrow down your career selections. Put your plan together.For example, do you need more education and additional financial resources ?Do you need support from your family ? Write a plan of action,then follow it step by step.

Advantage :n. a favorable condition that may help one to gain something. e.g. Her teaching experience gave her a big advantage over the other applicants for the job. One of the advantages of this method is that it saves a lot of fuel. 2. Advantageous: a. helpful to particular aim e.g. The new process should be particularly advantageous to small companies.

3. Bronze: n. a hard metal made mainly of copper and tin. e.g. There are several newly-bulit bronze statues in the street. 4. Candidate :n. a person who wants to be chosen for a job or related to a position. e.g. They’re interviewing candidates for the job of sales manager.

5. Challenge: n. an invitation to compete in a match e.g. He accepted his friend’s challenge to swim across the river. 6. Contest: n. a struggle to gain advantage ;a competition judged by a group of specially chosen judges. e.g. He won the speech contest. He took first place in the beauty contest.

9. enlarge: v. to cause to grow larger or wider. e.g. This photograph probably won’t enlarge well. The medical tests showed that he was suffering from an enlarged liver. 10. exchange: v. to give and receive in return. e.g. The two teams exchanged presents before the game. 11. reply : v. to answer or to say as an answer e.g. Have you replied to him/his suggestion?

Grammar focus 英语表示将来时间的方法除了使用 shall/will 外,还其它几种形式。 1. Be going to + 动词(原形) 1) 基本构成形式:肯定式,否定式和疑问式 肯定 We are going to apply for the job. 否定 They are not going to apply for the job. 疑问 1 Are you going to apply for the job? 疑问 2 What is she/he going to do?
