GOLD TEAM PROJECT BY: MAX S., BEN HOUGH, SYDNEY R., CASSIE K., AND ANGELA
2
GUIDELINES OF THE PROJECT The guidelines of the project are… We had to make a project that carried ten pennies 3 feet in 5 seconds or less.
3
GRAVITY Gravity is the force of Earth pulling on an object down towards the Earth. The force of gravity pulled down the egg carton full of pennies which made it able to reach the end point.
4
DRAG Drag is a force that resists an objects motion in a fluid like water of air. There is drag resisting the cups motion. You can feel the drag from the air if you put your hand behind the cup.
5
FRICTION The friction in our project is the string, holding the cup and the string connecting the cup string and the string connecting the wood and bottle. The string holding the cup all the way down is about five feet long.
6
LIFT The lift is keeping it from falling to the ground. Also, the lift pushes the object upwards. So that’s why it’s tumbling and crashing to the earth’s core.
7
THRUST Thrust is a force that pushes an object forwards. We pushed the egg carton down the rope and that showed thrust.
8
OUR PLAN Table Ritas cup Egg carton holding pennies string wood
9
IMPROVEMENTS Table Weighted Ritas cup Egg carton holding pennies string wood We had to little weight holding the cup down so we added clay in a tennis ball container that we attached to the cup to make it heavier
