3 Chemical properties are properties that involve how a substance interacts with other substances. Examples: What elements make it up, how does it react What are chemical properties of water?

4 A chemical change is a change that results in one or more new substances. Another term is chemical reaction Clues that you’ve seen a chemical change- color change, smell( rotting eggs), a new physical property (rust), Substance given off (smoke), heat or cold given off Name an example of a chemical change.

5 Milk goes sour Jewelry tarnishes Bread becomes toast Rust forms on metals Burning of a match Gasoline ignites Hydrogen peroxide bubbles in a cut Food scraps are turned in compost Match is ignited Antacid in your stomach Body digests food Fry an egg Bread rises
