4. Some Things To Know  Anthem is a work of dystopian fiction.  Anthem has a first-person narrator (Equality 7- 2521. He uses “we” and “our” to refer to himself because his society believes in Collectivism.  Collectivism  similar to Communism  values the group over the individual  chains the individual to the group for the sake of the “common good”  Equality 7-2521’s society has many strict rules, harsh consequences, and almost no personal freedoms. Does this remind you of any other societies (real or fictional)? Share them with a neighbor.
