3 FAQ – Omnitest ® plus 1.Which sort of blood has to be used?  Fresh capillary whole blood 2.What is the hematocrit range?  30 – 55 % within 10 – 600 mg/dL / 0.6 – 33.3 mmol/L 3.Could the system be used for neonates?  No, the hematocrit of neonates fluctuates from 35 to 68% and is therefore sometimes out of range. 4.Why is the result different from a competitor device?  Different calibration (plasma or whole blood)  General inaccuracy of the system  Different sample (time, source, treatment) 5.Why could an Omnitest ® plus reading be higher than the laboratory test?  see also 3.  Venous sample blood for lab will lead to lower values on lab device.
