6 Outer Hebrides local measures update Water body/ catchment Project title StakeholderProgress (to Oct 2013) Willow GlenWillow Glen, Stornoway SEPA, Stornoway Trust, Scottish Water, Western Isles Council. Glen River Catchment action plan is progressing. A review of the habitat survey carried out by Outer Hebrides Fisheries Trust and SEPA identifies options to progress the project. Meeting with all interested stakeholders is being arranged to discuss next steps. Project should also include Stornoway Port Authority as additional stakeholder. Small WaterbodiesSmall Waterbody Group SNHContractor Sue Bell ecology currently working on identifying small waterbodies in Outer Hebrides which are within protected areas and are at unfavourable condition for their various qualifying interests. Focussing on South Uist and Harris.

7 Water body/ catchment Project title StakeholderProgress (to Oct 2013) Harris - variousPearls in PerilSNHRiverwatcher has been out to Harris and is returning this week for second walkover. 2 Riverwatch dissemination afternoons in collaboration with fisheries trust. One attempt to encyst juvenile salmonids with glochidia – unsuccessful as mussels did not release juveniles (spat). Evidence of illegal pearl fishing identified during walkovers.
