DISCUSSING 2 OF THE GREATEST WORLD PROBLEMS

OUR FOCUS The problem with HIV: how can we stop it? Countering obesity: what measures must be taken? Providing safe water: how can we get safe drinking water to those who need it? Decrease smoke addiction: how do we stop smoking? Ultimately, our focus is “the ability to meet the health needs of 9.7 billion people”

HIV Causes; HIV is spread by: Sex, blood transfusions, shared needles and during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consequences; What happens to the body: flue like symptoms, fatigue, pain (head area), breathing troubles, balance issues etc…

STOP IT BY 2030 Top 3 solutions currently in act: Education for the people so they no longer fear the tests. Medical facilities set up in places with low medical control. (they provide tests) More efficient medication What is stopping us: Unfortunately many people do not want to be tested There are not enough facilities around the world HIV treatments are expensive and time consuming

OBESITY Causes; why do people become obese: The environment may not be suited for activity, work schedules may not allow enough activity, portion sizes, unhealthy food choices and food advertising. Genetic keys that can cause obesity, smoking, pregnancies, lack of sleep etc… Consequences; What happens to the body: diabetes, joint problems, high blood pressure, heart disease, gallbladder problems, cancer, breathing difficulties and digestive disorders.

Top 3 solutions currently in act: School/ prison/ mensa and other “food courts” will be checked and will only be allowed to sell food under a certain calorie count. Every restaurant must label the amount of calories in each meal Education on the dangers of obesity should be given at each school and interventions will be set up What is stopping us:
